Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Christian Contractors Association?
We are a faith-based organization of contractors and other
construction industry professionals. Our mission is to use
our God-given skills to serve and spread His word by helping
people
of all races and creeds who are in emergency need.
What services do you provide?
We provide free emergency construction services to the widowed,
elderly, and disaster victims. These services are completely
freethe client never pays anything for them.
How are you able to
provide these free services?
We are able to provide these services because individuals,
organizations, and churches believe in what we do. We are
funded through cash donations and rely on the voluntary services
of our network of contractors of all trades and other construction
professionals. Volunteers of various skills and ages are supervised
by our missionary contractors. Materials are donated or purchased
with donated funds. We also partner and coordinate our mission
teamsin-kind services with various charitable agencies
that provide funding to help reimburse our expenses.
How do I qualify for help?
As God provides the resources to CCA, anyone can receive help
when facing an emergency involving repair or retrofit of a
home and is unable to help themselves. Priority is given to
widows and elderly in life-threatening
situations caused by natural disasters or a personal crisis.
I have no funds and
I need help now. I've called several community service organizations
and they all refer me to you. Can you help me?
We will do our best to help those in emergency need. Our clients
are helped by order of priority (the most severe needs first),
not necessarily by the order in which calls are received.
I'm a caseworker from
a community service agency and have several elderly patients
in need. What services can you provide to groups like ours?
If you have a client who qualifies for your program, the CCA
can partner with your agency by providing whatever construction
service is necessary. Your agency provides CCA with the funds
needed to help reimburse our expenses for these emergency
services.
I am the pastor of
a church and I have several widows in my congregation who
need help. How can they apply to receive your services?
A CCA missionary will determine if the
need is an emergency and prioritize accordingly. The person
in need must call us themselves to request our services if
able. CCA mission teams humbly request the church to provide
prayer and financial support so that we may provide these
free services.
Are you available to
speak about CCA to our group?
Yes, we would be pleased to speak to your group. We have told our mission's story to large and small audiences,
from governors' meetings to small church groups. We'd also
be happy to bring literature and set up our information booth
along with a media presentation.
I believe in your mission
and would like to get involved. How do I begin?
You can start by becoming a member of CCA. Browse the Become
a Member section of our website, call our headquarters for
more information, or simply
send a donation of any amount. If you have construction
experience, office skills, or just a willing heart to serve
others, you canbecome
a volunteer.
I have some furniture
and used building materials I would like to donate. How do
I do this?
Call or Email our office , and we will arrange an inspection
and pickup if we can use the furniture or materials. Sometimes
we will give these donations directly to a needy family; other
times we will sell the items in a public charity auction and use the proceeds to fund
our missionary work and ongoing projects.
